These are Lava Tiles by Jockimo. When you step on them, they move. They can be back lit, can have an image in them, anything you want. They are pretty much amazing. They pass the slip resistance test and can also be used in healthcare.

Oxy Porcelain Tile by Nemo

OXY is a new project from Nemo that merges an industrial aesthetic with porcelain tile. This collection has been created to mimic the look of oxidized metal and features numbers and letters scratched into the surface of the tile.

One of my favorites. If I owned a loft in a big city, or if I had a large retail space - I would probably use this porcelain tile. Beautiful. (wouldn’t this look great in a gallery??)

Hardwood flooring can be black too - not just the natural coloring. Black can be used to accent a room, to make the colors or even just white furnishings, walls, decorations pop. Notice the flooring pattern, small touches like this can be used to add dimension and interest to a room.

^^ When renovating a room with very little floor space, like a powder room, opt to use high end tiles that make a big statement. Although these are more expensive, the small square footage makes it affordable and will add a wow factor using fixed elements. Designer Sarah Richardson employs this idea in season 1 and 2 of Sarah’s house, shown above.
